Drawing on the Canvas
Use the drawing tools to sketch directly onto the canvas. This is ideal when you want to express a rough idea, a detailed plan, or something in between.
Drawing styles the AI can visually interpret:
- Collage – Combine elements freely in layout form.
- Painting – Use broad strokes or washes (like gouache, watercolor).
- Sketch – Technical or precise drawings, in color or black & white.
- Doodle – Loose, expressive lines to suggest shape or direction.
Pro-Tip
Draw big and clear — bold sketches that fill the canvas give the AI more to work with and lead to better results. Avoid tiny or faint lines.

Using Images
You can upload external images to help anchor your ideas — whether it’s something you sketched by hand, a photo reference, or a 3D asset.
Combining Drawing + Images
There’s no need to choose just one method — the canvas supports hybrid workflows. You can draw over imported references, annotate a photo, or combine styles freely to guide the AI in more nuanced ways.
How to import an image
To import, click the + icon in the toolbar and select an image from your computer.

Drag-and-Drop or Copy Paste
- Drag-and-drop an image file directly onto the canvas from your desktop or another app.
- Copy and paste an image from your clipboard. Works with image files, screenshots, or images from your browser.
Both methods instantly add the image to your canvas, making it easy to bring in references, sketches, or textures while you work.
