BLNG Assistant

Which Image Does BLNG Work From?

When you send a follow-up prompt, BLNG has to decide which image you mean. This page explains how it decides, and how to stay in control of that choice.

The canvas. When the canvas has changed since your last generation, BLNG works from the canvas and sets previous generations aside.

The exception is when you ask for something else in your prompt. If you write "go back to the previous version" or "use the last one", BLNG follows that instruction.

Your latest generated image. When the canvas is unchanged, a normal follow-up continues from the most recent result in the chat.

Yes. BLNG keeps your recent generations in the project available, even if they are not on the canvas and not attached as references.

These images are candidates, not automatic influences. They do not shape your next generation on their own. BLNG picks one as the main image only when your prompt points to it, for example "the ring with the green accent".

Your recent generations (up to 15). An older image is still saved in your chat history, but BLNG may not find it from a description. To work from it again, click it in the chat history and add it to the canvas.

It depends on what is unclear.

If the request itself is unclear, BLNG asks you to clarify before generating.

If several recent images could match your description, BLNG does not ask. It picks the image that best matches your words and, between close matches, the most recent one.

Two habits prevent it.

Add the image to the canvas. This is the most reliable way to tell BLNG what to work from, and the right choice for structural edits such as thickness, proportions or silhouette.

Describe the image by what makes it different. "The oval emerald ring with the split shank" works better than "the second one" or "the earlier ring".

The rules above cover images BLNG generated. Reference images you attach are always used, each with its own Influence setting. See Reference Images.
