Apple Pencil (iOS)
On iPad, BLNG supports Apple Pencil for pressure-sensitive drawing on the Canvas. The app reads Pencil input separately from finger touches, so a Pencil stroke carries the pressure you put into it. Pair and enable your Pencil in iOS Settings first; the features available depend on your iPad and Pencil model.
Pressure-sensitive drawing
When you draw with Apple Pencil, BLNG reads how hard you press and feeds that pressure into the brush. What it changes depends on the brush:
- Flow and opacity on the Sketching, Inking, and Airbrushing brushes: press harder to build up density.
- Size on Brush Pen: press harder for thicker strokes, lighter for thinner ones.
A finger always draws at a steady, medium pressure, so Apple Pencil is the only way to get that variation within a stroke.
Pencil brushes
BLNG includes pencil-style brushes tuned for sketching: Pencil (H), Pencil (HB), and Soft Pencil (6B). Adjust brush size and settings in the brush controls before you draw. See Brushes.
Best practices
- Sketch first, render after. A confident pencil sketch gives the AI a clean blueprint to build on: draw the concept, then let BLNG render it. See Sketch to Image.
- Keep sketch strokes on their own layer so you can hide or adjust them without touching the rest of the design.
- Fix results by hand. Paint over a generated image to correct details, or clean up with the Eraser.
- Draw a selection with the Pencil to mask an area, then regenerate only that part. See Masks.
